Head of Secondary (Term 1, 2019 commencement)

Reporting to the Principal, the Head of Secondary will be an experienced, informed and reflective member of the Senior Management Team who models and endears a high degree of professionalism. The successful candidate will have proven leadership, management, pastoral care, administration and teaching capabilities. Marketing and Communications Coordinator (0.5FTE)

Following the successful appointment of a new Head of Marketing and Communications, and the completion of the Carmel School Strategic Plan in 2016, the School is now seeking to fill the role of Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join the existing team and support the activities and initiatives in this area of strategic importance to the School. This position will be filled on a 0.5FTE basis, through until the end of 2019, with the possibility of extension. A copy of the position description is available here. Head of Learning Area - English (parental leave replacement)

We are currently seeking a highly qualified applicant for this leadership role, commencing Term One, 2019. The Head of Learning Area - English will be keen to inspire, guide and challenge teachers and students under his/her responsibility to achieve academic and personal goals of growth and success. He/she will demonstrate enthusiastic and positive commitment to the ethos of the School, its values and policies, promoting them within the Learning Area and wider school/community contexts. He/she will strive to be an example of a life-long learner who embraces change, trusts in the assistance of others and recognises the dynamic nature of the educational environment.

Director of Music and Head of Learning Area - Visual and Performing Arts

Carmel School invites outstanding applicants to apply for this leadership position, commencing Term 1, 2019.

Reporting to the Head of Secondary, The Director of Music and Head of Learning Area (VAPA) will be a highly informed, effective, reflective and professional teacher in his/her subject who models and facilitates best professional practice. He/she will provide effective administration, management and leadership in all aspects of the work of the Learning Area to maximise teaching and learning. 

Importantly, the Director of Music and Head of Learning Area (VAPA) will be keen to inspire, guide and challenge teachers and students under his/her responsibility to achieve creative, academic and personal goals of growth and success. Our goal with this position is not only the educational success of our students, but that the successful candidate will enliven our School spirit through the strategic and purposeful use of music, in particular, Jewish music. As such, an understanding of Jewish music and the role music plays in Jewish culture is a highly desirable attribute for this position.
