High School: Years 8 - 12
Carmel High School has approximately 250 students from Years 8 to 12. Fully co-educational, the School has a proud history of academic achievement with consistent success of its graduates in the public examination arena and the School consistently ranked as the best performing co-educational school in Western Australia.
The size of our High School means that we are small enough for our students to be well-known and well cared for as individuals, yet large enough to offer an impressive range of subjects and activities.
The secondary curriculum follows the guidelines provided by the Curriculum Council of Western Australia, following the eight Learning Areas of the Curriculum Framework: The Arts, English, Health & Physical Education, Languages Other Than English, Mathematics, Science, Society & Environment, Technology & Enterprise.
Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 study secular core subjects, a range of Jewish Studies modules and electives of their choice. The Secondary School aims to give all students the opportunity to qualify for tertiary studies with a number of courses offered in Years 11 and 12. The range of subjects offered is reviewed each year and is responsive to the needs, requirements and choices of our students.
For specific Course Outlines, details of options or TEE subjects offered, please contact the Director of Teaching & Learning dotal@carmel.wa.edu.au.
We are strongly committed to caring for the social, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of all our students and take pride when our students graduate as balanced, thoughtful, self-aware and self-assured young people confident of a bright future.
