Early Learning at Carmel School

Opened in 2006, Carmel School’s Ashley Schaffer Early Learning Centre provides a dynamic, safe and stimulating environment specifically designed to cater for the special learning needs of children in their early years. This beautiful centre accommodates our classes from Kindergarten (4 year olds), Pre-Primary and Year 1.

Our Early Childhood programme recognises that learning is a continuous process and a collaborative effort between teachers, students and families. The curriculum nurtures the development of our children as self-motivated, lifelong and active learners with an understanding of themselves, their community and their world.

The Reggio-Emilia-inspired Early Childhood programme at Carmel School is underpinned by the six domains in a child’s development:
