Judging of Year 9 Cake Competition

The Year 9 Food Technology students were given the opportunity to bake in pairs and to create and design a birthday cake of their choice. They had to present their cakes, which had to comply with a list of criteria. The biggest challenge they faced was that their cakes could only feed four people and be suitable for a child’s birthday party. A panel of internal and external food experts judged their cakes; this fun and successful challenge was the highlight. There were two winning pairs for this semester’s Cake Competition: Lara H and Daniel L, who created the Treasure Chest, and Georgia B and Royie R, who created the Box of Popcorn. Congratulations to each and every one of the Year 9 Food Technology students: you went above and beyond.
