When we ask people ‘what makes Carmel School so special?’ be they students, parents, alumni or staff, they invariably talk about the community, the sense of belonging and connectedness. This is no accident; it is an outcome that we strive to achieve. Enabling a sense of community, whether it is the community within the classroom, or understanding one’s place within the broader local, national or international Jewish community, is one of the key purposes of our School. And as the heart of the Perth Jewish community, we consider a sense of belonging and connectedness as critical factors in the Carmel experience.

Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, we will be launching our inaugural giving day. This 24-hour fundraising event will have as its aim the raising of funds to enable two projects that will enhance the sense of community and connectedness at Carmel. The projects: a canteen for the High School and a revitalised basketball court for the Primary School will, on completion, give our students extra areas to come together and enjoy one another’s company, forge friendships and strengthen ties.

We encourage you to participate in this incredible event in two ways. The first is by telling and swapping stories about what Carmel means to you. The second is by giving to the School to help us with our two project goals. For all the information visit: https://www.charidy.com/carmel.

Shabbat Shalom,
