On Wednesday 11 September, the Year 10 Drama students performed in their first Youth On Health Festival (YOH Fest), competing against a number of different schools. The 10s devised, wrote, acted and designed the short play titled ‘Echoes of Yesterday’, with research input from Michele Galanti, and exploration of different styles of theatre in class and many after school rehearsals. The performance explored the theme ‘Belonging’ through a Jewish lens and was touching, funny in parts and authentic. The students along with the lighting technician, Michael B, showcased the heart and soul of our school and their strong connection to their Jewish identity.

Carmel won a merit award at the event for outstanding emotional delivery of a storyline and a merit as runners up for the Health Award for the school with the best message about belonging. Kol Hakavod, Year 10 Drama participants!
