On Friday 18 September the elections for the 2021 Student Representative Council (SRC) were held. Every student, from Years 7-12 had the opportunity to vote for the important positions of School Captains, Heads of Judaica and House Captains. This exciting annual event now traditionally takes place upstairs in the ST building which transforms into a polling place, complete with official ballot papers and private voting booths from the WA Electoral Commission. Some very official Mentor teachers and Year 9 students from the Service Learning class ran the voting with expertise and aplomb. All students were accurately accounted for and provided with the relevant ballot papers. There was a definite buzz of excitement as students from every year group filtered through, following instructions with respect and enthusiasm. In less than an hour, the ballot box was full and the democratic duty of all Carmel students was complete. We congratulate all students on participating so beautifully and wish all candidates the very best of luck!
