On Friday 22 October, our Carmel Primary School Chess team won the Kids Unlimited WA Interschools finals with a perfect score of 36 points out of 36. Five players: Marcus, Daniel, Mia, Yonatan and Oz, didn't drop a single game and finished with nine points out of nine. Josh S, Max, Ezra and Asher placed sixth to ninth and Josh K, 12th. Mia was named Best Female Player.
The arbiter summarised the championship by saying it was the most convincing win he had ever seen. Mazal tov to our superstar Chess team, especially since they worked so hard for this win.
Carmel now qualifies for the Australian National Interschools finals to be held at the end of November.
